The closing ceremony of the Olym[ics was a star studded affair and I thought it must have cost millions just to pay the talent… but probably not! Maybe they all did it for the exposure. I know Blur did. They were paid only £300 for their gig in London's Hyde Park for people who couldn’t get into the stadium.
Lead singer Damon Albarn says, "Guess how much they are paying us. Three hundred quid (pounds). When you divide that by four and add publishing (fees), management and tax, it's down to about a quid. But that's not why you agree to do it."
“It's nice to get involved and celebrate this amazing city. Everyone's feeling pretty good about London and I'm there with that because I love this city."
