Awards season is now upon us, with the Critics Choice awards last week, and now the Golden Globes.  Often thought of as the dress rehearsal for the Oscars, the Globes are one of Hollywood's biggest nights.

Check out all the fashion from the red carpet here.

The red carpet event preceding the ceremony saw actors and actress from the big and small screen get their fashion on... Men donning tuxes and woman floating into the ceremony in lavish ball gowns, it's enough to make anyone envious.

Last year's awards were the talk of the town after presenter, Ricky Gervais slammed numerous high profile actors and actresses.   Despite the drama that followed from his comical tirade, with many people claiming that he'd never work in Hollywood ever again, Gervais is in fact back again this year to pick up where he left off.  We know one thing for sure, no one is safe.

Check out Ricky Gervais' opening speech.
