What is your single about?
“Invisible” is a song for anyone who is feeling like someone is taking you for granted, or not appreciating you the way they should. It’s about finding the courage to break free from a negative situation to be a stronger individual.
Where did you record this single, and who helped you out?
I recorded ‘Invisible’ at the amazing Roundhead Studios in Auckland. Joel and Jaden from Dryden Street Records played a huge part in the creation of this song and together we collaborated to get the end result, which we are all extremely proud of.
Have you got a video out, if so what is the theme/story behind the video?
The video is being filmed this weekend, which is very exciting! It will be released as soon as the editing is complete. The theme behind the video is all about beautiful lighting and visually interesting takes, creative shots, lots of drama and attitude.

Who’s in your band?
Just me performing solo at the moment. Scary stepping out on your own, but I can’t wait to meet the public!
Have you got any tours coming up?
We’re working on dates for early next year. So keep an eye out!
Have you got an album coming out soon?
I can't wait for my debut album to be released, but we're working through songs step by step at the moment, so aiming for mid 2012 for the album.
Bio
Gemma Copas is a dynamic new voice on the pop music landscape. The latest artist to emerge from independent Auckland record label Dryden Street, Gemma sits in the same tradition as her label mates Kids of 88. As such, she's a purveyor of fun electronic pop music with subtly sophisticated undertones.
Making her first serious foray into the music industry as a member of local hip-hop group Fast Crew, during that stint Gemma performed to packed arenas on both sides of the Tasman. Along the way she learned the ropes about the major label record machine and lived through the peaks and valleys that come with mainstream recognition. All the while, having had visions of singing professionally since she joined a choir a t the age of seven, Gemma always dreamed of taking the main spotlight.
Having spent the last few years refining her craft, with Dryden Street's infectious productions supporting her stunningly toned voice and instantly infectious lyrics; Gemma's goal now seems intoxicatingly tangible. It's only a matter of time before she takes her rightful place in center stage
