Everyone loves a classic red lipstick.  It goes perfect with both winter and summer, and in particular, with Christmas.  But how can you make yourself stand out from the crowd amongst a sea of crimson lips?

Day

Choose two complementary colours, such as a cool-toned red and a bright fuchsia.  Use the darker tone on your bottom lip and the light on the top.  This look is high impact and will be sure to get the conversation started.

Night

There's nothing like a bit of sparkle to really get you in the mood for the silly season, so why not glam up your lips with a bit of glitter.  Start with a base of cherry red lippy, then dab a bit of glitter into the centre of your lips, getting less intense as you move outwards.  Seal it all in with a couple of coats of thick gloss and there you have it, the perfect party lip makeover.

Lazy Sunday

This look is essentially lippy for lazy people, but the outcome is super cool.  Apply a deep red colour to the centre of your lips and blend outwards using your finger and you're done. This look is very natural and is great if you're not really comfortable using lipstick or prefer a lighter look.

Special Occasion

If you're heading somewhere really special this festive season, why not give the dip-dyed look a go.  We already know that dip-dyed hair is totally in right now, and the trend is now spreading to the make up world. Begin with a deep red lip pencil, followed by a deep burgundy lipstick.  Then using a rich red colour, fill in the centre of your lips and coat with gloss to finish and to help the two blend together.
