It’s seems the winged eye may be back – some may argue it never left, but this trend is appearing in photoshoots and on the runway more than ever lately.

While this look is dramatic and sexy when applied well, it can look disastrous when done badly e.g Amy Winehouse (RIP).

A good thing to remember here is ‘less is more’. Especially if you’re not sure! The arc of the ‘wing’ should never arch up more than the natural progression of your eye. Some people use tape to help them with the liquid eyeliner, cause once you make a boo boo with that stuff you can end up looking like a panda.

But the best advice I could give you with this, is try it out at home. Never try a new look like this half an hour before you go out! You’ll spend too long doing it, end up fluffing it up, hate it, have to take all your make-up off, and then you’ll be late for your party. Moral of the story… practise at home!

Ask the cosmetics staff at your local shops to show you the products to use and how to apply. They are really helpful and you often leave armed with heaps of info and some samples :)
