Supermodel Linda Evangelista is demanding a massive $46,000-a-month in child support from Salma Hayek's fashion mogul husband, Francois-Henri Pinault.
The former runway stunner, 46, filed the extravagant request to help her take care of her four-year-old son with Pinault, Augustin James, in Manhattan Family Court in New York on Monday (01Aug11). Even the judge was taken aback by the amount Evangelista was asking for.
Support Magistrate Matthew Troy commented, "That would probably be the largest support order in the history of the Family Court."
The model claims her ex-lover has not contributed to Augustin's welfare costs since he was born and she is demanding the huge cash sum to cover security costs for around-the-clock armed chauffeurs and a full-time nanny.
But French billionaire Pinault is fighting the child support request and his lawyers questioned Evangelista's need for such a large team of employees during a lengthy deposition last week (26Jul11), reports the New York Post.
Evangelista, who is allegedly worth more than $8 million, defended her lifestyle, insisting she relies on her staff to take care of the child when she's on assignment.
When asked by the judge how many hours she works per week, she replied, "On days when I do not work, I am working on my image. I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete. When I work, it can be a 16-hour day."
Troy is expected to rule on the child support petition next month (Sep11).
Pinault also has a three-year-old daughter, named Valentina, with Hollywood beauty Hayek.
The tycoon's paternal links to Evangelista's child were revealed earlier this year (11) when the model first filed for child support. Pinault reportedly dated the beauty during a split from Hayek.
