Deaf Aotearoa - New Zealand Sign Language Week 2013


Here at The Edge the announcers have had their hands busy thanks to New Zealand Sign Language Week which is on right now.

New Zealand Sign Language Week 2013 13th-19th May recognises one of New Zealand’s official languages and raises Deaf Awareness. Deaf with a capital D is a culture!

Deaf Aotearoa is challenging the NZ public to learn 25 signs to win during NZSL Week – go to Deaf Aotearoa's website and complete the online NZSL Taster Class to go into the draw to win spot prizes

NZSL is unique to New Zealand and includes signs for Maori terminology and concepts that reflect kiwi culture, it is a combination of hand shapes, facial expressions and body movements
