First Mariah, then Nicki Minaj, now there are rumours that Kanye West could be about to be announced as the next judge on American Idol.

TMZ was the website first responsible for the rumours, saying that the show's execs approached Kanye and offered him at least $18 million, the same amount as Mariah. Kanye is apparently interested but has yet to sign, or comment on the rumours.

In addition to Mariah, the new judges will join Randy Jackson, who is said to be taking on a "mentor" role this season.
