Coldplay's concert at a cramped London club on Tuesday (06Dec11) got off to a difficult start after frontman Chris Martin admitted he was struggling to "acclimatise" to such a small venue.

The Yellow hitmakers returned to the 500-capacity Dingwalls nightclub, where they played one of their earliest gigs in 1998, to stage a free concert for fans.

But after years of playing sold-out stadium shows, the rockers had trouble re-adjusting to such a small stage and made several false starts before launching into their opening track Hurts Like Heaven.

Martin joked to the crowd, "We're supposed to be a professional band, for f**k's sake. I've got more cousins than this where I come from."

Fans in the audience were treated to the group's biggest hits, as well as songs from their latest album Mylo Xyloto before their final festive treat, Christmas Lights.
