Coldplay delighted fans in Los Angeles on Friday by previewing their upcoming album Ghost Stories in its entirety during an intimate concert.

The Yellow hitmakers invited 800 lucky fans to a soundstage at Sony Studios to listen to their sixth studio album, weeks before its release on 16 May.

Opening the gig, which was also being recorded as part of a DVD extra for the album, frontman Chris Martin joked to the crowd, "Welcome to my stand-up comedy show."

The band played all nine tracks from Ghost Stories in order, and also performed a few familiar hits including Paradise, Clocks, Vida La Vida and Fix You.
