BRUNO MARS is celebrating after his 2010 cocaine
possession charge was dismissed by a Las Vegas judge on Wednesday.
The Just The
Way You Are hitmaker was arrested at a hotel in SinCity
after a bathroom attendant reported his alleged drug-dabbling actions to the
authorities.
Mars pleaded
guilty to the felony possession charge last February but the conviction was
deferred and he was placed on probation and ordered to complete eight hours of
drug counselling, perform 200 hours of community service and pay a $2,000
(£1,250) fine.
The charge was
dropped from the 26 year old's record on Wednesday after a Clark County
District Court judge determined Mars had logged more than 230 hours of service
at a number of charities and successfully finished his classes.
The singer's lawyer Blair Berk
appeared in court on his behalf and told TMZ.com, "Bruno earned the
dismissal of his charge. He exceeded the expectations of the court in both his
service to the community and his counselling."
