BILL MURRAY almost set fire to a TV studio during an appearance on U.S. programme THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN on Tuesday when he accidentally dropped a book of lit matches.
Murray, was David Letterman's first guest on the programme when it premiered back on 1 February, 1982, so returned to the show on Tuesday to help the Letterman mark his 30th anniversary.
However, things went awry when the Groundhog Day star brought out a chocolate cupcake for Letterman - complete with 30 candles - to mark the occasion.
In a hurry to capture the moment, the actor rushed to illuminate all the candles but he dropped the matchbook on the floor in the process and had to frantically stomp out the blaze in order to prevent a fire.
