By Kooge There's been a bit of speculation going around lately over the Auckland leg of the Big Day Out - questions flying around like will the festival stay at it's home of Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium? will it be moving out of Auckland? or maybe even not returning to New Zealand altogether? Auckland's CRS Management who look after all things BDO in NZ, issued a statement at the weekend clearing up all the rumours once and for all... “Leaving New Zealand or Auckland is the last thing Big Day Out wants to do and we are in continuing discussions with venue operators to ensure the event stays there into the future. Audience members should be confident that the BDO will return in January 2012. - The Big Day Out Team." BDO organisers had hinted they were looking at other venues after the company who ran Mt Smart Stadium (Auckland Council-owned Regional Facilities Auckland) wanted more profits from the venue hire and bar for future BDO festivals.
