Beyonce had a hard time on the red carpet at the MET Gala in New York on Monday night (02May11) - the singer was relentlessly booed by photographers as she struggled to walk up steps in her tight dress.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker made an entrance at the annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit in a body-hugging fishtail gown by Emilio Pucci, but struggled to walk the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the bash was held.

Unlike other stars who happily showed off their style while climbing the stairs, the singer had to be helped up the steps by husband Jay-Z and an assistant, and struggled to pose for snaps.

Several photographers who lined the sides of the red carpet grew angry with the star for not stopping long enough for pictures, and aimed a chorus of boos at Beyonce, which lasted until she had made her way safely inside.
