Beverly Knight has backed fellow British singer Adele after the soul star refused to give her ex-boyfriend any royalties for songs she wrote about their break-up.Adele, who is currently riding high in the charts with her popular album 21, recently revealed the former lover who inspired many of her songs contacted her and asked for a share of the profits.She refused to hand over any money, and Knight is adamant her pal did the right thing.Knight tells Britain's Daily Star Sunday, "You can say on record from me her ex is a cheeky b**tard. He didn't have the talent to write it. He doesn't deserve anything. I take my hat off to Adele. She's like, 'He screwed me over but look at me now.'"WENN.com
