While we all like the look of beach hair, it feels pretty gross and the salt and sun does nothing for the health of your hair either.

Going from brunette to blonde over summer, couple that with some serious beach action, and I found myself with dry scratchy hair, that didn’t even pass as sexy beach hair.

After enquiring with what to do with the girls, and over twitter it seems there are a few secret tips out there!

Firstly Moroccan Oil. This seems to be the cure all for nasty, dry hair, and one that many girls know about, but have failed to, until now, tell me about.

It will smooth out the frizz and treat your hair, not to mention smell pretty delish!

And if your like me and have heard about sunscreen for you hair and thought, “meh, that’s a load of bull…”, apparently not. It works in the same way as sunscreen for your skin. The chemicals work in absorbing the UV rays or reflecting them to protect your hair.
Failing that, you can actually put sunscreen in your hair, you probably want to make sure it’s a clear spray - of the non oily variety, rather than rubbing white cream through it.

I have also been told that during the summer months you have to be gentle with your hair…obviously. Some good options are to cut back on the straightners, ramp up the conditioning treatments, even just leave in sprays, and cut back on the shampooing.

Sounds kind of gross yes, but shampooing gets rid of the natural oil in your hair, which stops it going dry. In the summer months you can get away with shampooing less and even just conditioning your hair.

What do you think of the beach hair look? Hot or Not?

If you have trouble with it going frizzy or 'poofy' when you wash your hair let it natural dry. It works for most people.
