The father of tragic singer Amy Winehouse has pulled the plug on a planned musical about the life of his daughter.

Stage bosses in Denmark were set to launch the production, featuring music from Winehouse's critically acclaimed albums Frank and Back to Black, at the Danish Royal Theatre in Copenhagen next year.

They were originally granted permission to use the Grammy winner's tunes and photos for the project by chiefs at copyright agency Koda, but now Amy's dad, Mitch Winehouse, has shut down the project after revoking their licence.

Amy, which would have depicted the British star's relationship with drugs, was slated to open on 30 January.
