Adele halted her homecoming gig in London on Monday night (19Sep11) to help a fan who fainted in the audience.

The soul star took her tour to her native city after cancelling a number of shows due to a chest infection, but the concert at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo was halted when a gig-goer collapsed while Adele was onstage.

The singer noticed a stirring in the crowd, and asked, "Has someone fainted?" before calling out, "Medic!"

She then walked to the front of the stage and asked fans to stand aside to allow venue staff to reach the person who had been taken ill. After the emergency had been dealt with, Adele continued the show, saying, "That's proper rock 'n' roll", according to Britain's Evening Standard.
