Adele has finally scored a chart double in the U.S. after landing at number one on both the Billboard album and singles charts.

The Brit's 21 has scored a seventh non-consecutive week at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart, while her Rolling in the Deep takes over at number one on the Hot 100 after two weeks of playing runner-up to Katy Perry's E.T.

The album's success is a little bit of a surprise to chart watchers, who expected the Beastie Boys' long-awaited Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 to debut at the top. The new release enters the countdown at three and leads eight debuts in the top 10.

Also making the top five: the Now 38 hits compilation at three, folk act Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues at four and Jennifer Lopez's comeback album Love? at five.

Meanwhile, Stevie Nicks' In Your Dreams debuts at six, Sade's new greatest hits album The Ultimate Collection enters the chart at seven, Musiq Soulchild crashes in at eight with MusiqInTheMagiq and rocker Nikki Sixx's Sixx: A.M. round out the top 10 at 10 with new release This Is Gonna Hurt.

Adele's Rolling in the Deep, which was performed by the cast of Glee on TV in America on Tuesday night's (10May11) episode, also scores the number one on the U.S. Digital Download chart, replacing Perry's E.T. as she does on the main chart.
